1. The clutch pressure plate bearing may break when the clutch is operated frequently due to the insufficient load rating of the bearing. As a consequence, the clutch may fail to operate and the transmission will not shift properly.

2. There is a possibility that engine oil pressure may not regulate properly due to an improper design of the oil relief valve in the oil pump. As a consequence, the resin gear may break which could result in engine damage due to lack of oil supply.

The recall affects MY 2015 – 2016 motorcycles.

What the owner should do?

If you read about a recall that you think may affect your motorcycle, you should make contact with a Yamaha dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer.

Manufacturers offer an unlimited time for those repairs, meaning that second or third owners can still get a recalled motorcycle fixed at no charge.
